The upcoming Canadian-based multinational wireless telecommunications software and mobile hardware company smartphone named as ‘Mercury’ will be made by Blackberry themselves.

Rumors suggest that it might be the last piece of hardware it will make. The leaked images don’t tell us much about the device other than the fact that the BlackBerry Mercury will feature a physical QWERTY keyboard.

Blackberry Mercury Specification

BlackBerry Mercury was earlier spotted on benchmarking website, Geekbench back in October with the model number BlackBerry BBB100-1. The benchmark showed the phone to be running on a 2GHz Octa-core Qualcomm processor and featuring Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The phone comes with 3GB of RAM. The phone got 913 on the single-core score and 5046 on the multi-core score.

According to Indian Express, back in November, BlackBerry CEO John Chen had confirmed that the company was working on an Android device with a physical keyboard – something that has been missing in both the DTEK devices that were launched recently with the BlackBerry name.

A new BlackBerry Qwerty smartphone leak is making its rounds on the Internet. As a matter of fact, rumors regarding the said smartphone has been around since June of 2016 and later confirmed by the company’s CEO John Chen. In this case, people can now feast their eyes upon the upcoming mobile phone that is now made by BlackBerry themselves.

BLACKBERRY QWERTY SMARTPHONE: THE MERCURY

Compared to BlackBerry’s previous devices such as the DTEK 60 and DTEK 50 that are rebadged versions of Alcatel devices, Mercury is a true BlackBerry. However, the images don’t tell much information about the device. One thing is for sure, the BlackBerry Mercury will feature a physical QWERTY keyboard.

    It looks like the size of the iPhone 7, but the proportion of the screen to the keyboard looks odd. I wonder if there isn’t a midpoint between the 3.5″ square screen of the Q10/Q5 and this 4’5″.
