#MicrosoftSurface #SurfacePro5 – Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Gearing Up For March Release: 4K Display, 3D Support And More : Microsoft is conjectured to be developing an upgraded version of its Surface Pro 4 tablet – the Surface Pro 5. Now the rumor mill is abuzz with speculations that the new tablet from the Redmond-based company could be unveiled in March.
The Surface Pro 5 has been rumored to release in Q1 2017 for a while and as the alleged launch window of the tablet nears, rumors pertaining to the device are gaining momentum.
The company revealed a new version of the two-in-one Surface book hybrid in October 2016 but there was no sign of the Surface Pro 5.
Several leaks and rumors have come out of the supply chains and here is a lowdown of what to expect from the new Surface Pro 5.
The Surface Pro 5 will allegedly be powered by Intel’s 7th Generation Kaby Lake processor and will be coming out in three versions – the Core M (dual core), Core i5 (dual-core with two threads), and Core i7 (quad-core with eight threads). This will enable the tablet to have higher processing speeds and better battery life.
Cinematic experience will receive a boost, as Microsoft plans to install a 12.5-inch 4K screen, which offers 3D support at 60fps. Microsoft could ditch the Super AMOLED screens in favour of an IPS touch one.
The device will also contain a USB Type-C port, version 3.1 with Thunderbolt. Sources have also hinted at two different versions of storage foe the Surface Pro 5 – 16 GB and 32 GB.
The Surface 5 Pro will likely support 512GB to 1TB storage SSD. The device will reportedly run on the Windows 10 Redmond 3 version.
The camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity of the Surface Pro 4 successor is also estimated to get enhanced.
Another exciting rumor is that the Surface Pro 5 may have an upgraded Surface Pen, and the stylus may have a rechargeable battery which will be able to charge wirelessly by docking the stylus in to the tablet.
A trackpad and fingerprint scanner are also said to have been integrated in to the device.
Pricing And Release
Reports suggest that Pegatron Technology could be manufacturing the Surface Pro 5 tablet.
The Surface Pro 5 will allegedly have a starting price of $899 for the base model. The device is expected to be announced in March this year. However, the Kaby Lake processor may not become available before H2 2017 and, therefore, Microsoft may yet again have to push back the release of the Surface Pro 5 tablet..
