#Toyota #ToyotaCamry – Toyota Camry TRD Can Force Ford Taurus SHO To Return : One of the most underrated cars here in the US is the Ford Taurus SHO and this is due to its executive offerings. The Taurus SHO belongs in the full size sedan category that appeals mostly to the young executives and this has got many performance lovers overlooking its capabilities.
In case you are unaware, the Taurus SHO has won numerous awards for being the best sleeper car around. The car relies on a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost engine that can generate 365hp and 350ft-lbs of torque. Despite being very heavy in weight, a basic engine tune can allow the Taurus SHO to outpace a standard Mustang.
Everything about the Taurus SHO sounds great, aside from the fact that it is no longer available here in the US. Ford has apparently dismissed the Taurus SHO in the US due to poor sales and the vehicle is now residing exclusively in China.
The good news here is that the Taurus SHO may make an early return in the US if Toyota decides to sell the Camry TRD. The latter is the next big thing to hit Japan and Toyota said that the car will be a performance benchmark in the large sedan market. Toyota also remarked that if the prospects are good, they will turn the Camry TRD into a global car.
So if the Camry TRD manages to land on US soil, we can fully expect Ford to offer a response through bringing back the Taurus. Failing to do so will only grant Toyota a free pass in sales – something which we believe Ford wouldn’t want.
