#Yi4K #ActionCamera – Yi 4K+ Action Camera Does 4K Recording At 60fps : Late last month, Yi confirmed that it’s going to launch an updated version of its 4K action camera which will be capable of recording 4K UHD video at 60 frames-per-second. As promised, the company launched the Yi 4K+ Action Camera at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017. China-based Yi makes a wide variety of smart connected objects as well and has quite a reputation, it doesn’t hurt that it’s backed by Chinese consumer electronics behemoth Xiaomi.
The Yi 4K+ Action Camera is an upgraded version of the company’s original 4K action camera. It has a 12.3 megapixel sony IMX377 1/2.3 inch CMOS sensor. It’s also the first action camera to be powered by an Ambarella H2 chipset and a quadcore Cortex-A53 ARM processor which enables it to capture 4K UHD video at up to 60fps.
Another major improvement in the upgraded version is that the bitrate has been increased from 60Mbps of the original camera to 135Mbps but it’s not clear whether the higher bitrate is used when capturing UHD at 60fps.
Yi 4K+ Action Camera features electronic image stabilization as well aside from live streaming functionality and even has support for virtual reality. The new action camera has a fully reversible USB Type-C connector which Yi claims can transfer footage at 40Mbps. The USB Type-C port can also be used to hook up an external microphone with the camera.
Pricing and availability information is yet to be confirmed.
